The University of Pittsburgh is regarded as a leading research university owned by the state in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The university was originally found in the year 1787 with the name Pittsburgh Academy. But due to an unforeseen disturbing situation, the location of the university had to be changed many times. Finally, the university was shifted to the current location that is the neighborhood of Oakland. The name was again changed to the University of Pittsburgh in 1908, and it was a privately owned institute until it joined the Commonwealth System of Higher Education. The other known alumni’s are Vladimir Zworykin who is popularly known as the father of television.
