Topic: Imagine that you are in a classroom or a meeting. The teacher or the meeting leader says something incorrect In your opinion, which of the following is the best thing to do? •Interrupt and correct the mistake right away. •Wait until the class or meeting is over and the people are gone, and then talk to the teacher or meeting leade. •Say nothing.

It can be a dilemma what to do when you see someone who is in a higher position compare to you makes a mistake; besides, it will get worse when you are in a class or meeting facing such situations. In my opinion the best way to deal with this situations is to remain quiet and talk to the speaker after the end of the class or meeting. I will illustrate my viewpoint in the light of following reasons.


First off, the most important problem with interrupting the speaker and expressing our opinion is distracting both the professor giving the lecture and audience listening to it. Moreover, maybe our opinion were not correct so it would waste the class's or meeting’s time. AS an example, back in college, I took a history course with a great professor whose classes I really enjoyed, but the bad fortune of mine was a student who thought is a professional at history and he knew everything while he had just a broad but shallow knowledge of this subject. Therefore, each session he was trying to correct the professor by interrupting him, in spite of the fact that what he considered as a piece of incorrect information, was actually historical facts he did not know. Although, the professor always tried to answer him and demonstrate things more to persuade him, the professor really was distracted that made it hard for him to get back to the discussion had been going on before the interruption.


On the other hand, if a person take the side of saying nothing in such situations, it will lead to misunderstandings either for the person himself or other audience. There is two possibilities, either the person is wrong or the professor is really making a mistake. In the first assumption he will never understand he is wrong keeping the wrong opinion in his mind for ever that can have detrimental effects. For instance, when it comes to teacher and student relationship since there will be a final exam and the student will lose point due to his misunderstandings. Second assumption, if the professor is wrong he can realize his mistake so he will correct it next session, therefore other students will be given the right information too.


In sum, one can behave differently when he is confronted with mistakes from lecturers in classes or meetings, but in my opinion it’s better to wait till the last moment then talk to the lecturer because of aforementioned reasons.
